Iran box office top hits revealed

The list of bestselling films at Iranian box office for July 25-August 2, 2018, has been unveiled, with ‘Katyusha’ joining the chart.

‘Millipede' directed by Abolhassan Davoudi (Weekly gross: 42,417,960,000 Rials, Total gross: 168,290,830,000 Rials), 'Auntie Frog' directed by Afshin Hashemi (Weekly gross: 4,062,570,000 Rials, Total gross: 14,009,490,000 Rials), 'Texas' directed by Masoud Atyabi (Weekly gross: 3,966,500,000 Rials, Total gross: 137,218,170,000 Rials), 'Katyusha' directed by Ali Atshani (Weekly gross: 3,704,510,000 Rials, Total gross: 3,836,190,000 Rials), and 'Axing' directed by Behrouz Shoeibi (Weekly gross: 2,184,900,000 Rials, Total gross: 14,703,530,000 Rials).

“Reza, a criminal, finds out that a rich female doctor at war veteran hospital vows to marry a veteran. Reza who is an amputee without a leg wants to marry the doctor. However, things get out of hand in the middle,” a short synopsis for 'Millipede' reads.

‘Auntie Frog’ aims to introduce family concepts and close-knitted relations of grandmothers and their grandchildren as well as pathways to collective collaboration in dealing with issues.

‘Texas’ has an action comic theme and enjoys some foreign stars. “Never threaten an Iranian, even in Texas,” a tagline for the flick says.

“If I want to be successful in my life, I do not have to look at life like you do," a short synopsis for 'Katyusha' reads.

"There is nothing harder in life than being left alone. You see your loved ones and you love them, but they all deny you. They closed doors on you and you are alone. Loneliness is a swamp,” a short synopsis for 'Axing' reads.
